   while stroking my hair,
   "When you wake up, there'll be
   a nice present waiting for you
   by your pillow."
  
   You weren't always
   there for me,
   but we could laugh together
   at funny stories.
  
   But how can people regret
   mistakes that they keep making
   over and over again?
  
   I remember now...
   that night I thought
   I had buried.
